Recent Santee Cooper Fishing Photos Capt. Bill 803 524 1951
Catfishing on Santee Cooper lakes offers fantastic scenery and monster sized catfish year- round. At the very top of a great friends or family outing or occasion is going fishing with Lake Marion Marina and Resort Resident Fishing Guide Capt. Bill Saltzman.
We will be
fishing from a 28 ft.
Tri-toon with a 150 h.p. engine, fitted with a toilet.
The engine has speeds that are more than adequate to reach good fishing spots in good, safe time. The boat is equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS), Modern Sonar fish finders, Marine radios and State of the art trolling motors with auto pilot control systems.
You will need a SC Fishing License. You can purchase them online the South Carolina Dept of Natural Resources website at: http://www.dnr.sc.gov Dress for the weather, bring sun glasses, sun block if needed. Bring enough food and drink for your fishing trip and a 150 qt. cooler to take your fish home in.
On Feb. 8, 2012 Leland Selph of Cross, SC ran a trotline on Lake Moultrie and caught a blue catfish that tipped the scales at 136 pounds, 6 ounces and 56 inches in length. The fish would have surpassed the current 21-year-old state record of 109 pounds, 4 ounces had it been angled with a rod and reel. Like most states, the S.C. Department of Natural Resources maintains records for fish caught on standard sport fishing equipment and for several bow fished species. Regardless of the harvest method, it demonstrates the potential for world record size blue catfish that exists in the Santee Cooper system.
Below see recent catfishing photos of what you can look forward to when you come fishing Santee Cooper lakes with me. It's exciting to pull in a catfish - of any size! Don't forget the camera! Yours could be the next world record catch!
